1) Kaup
Udupi, in coastal Karnataka, is renowned for its ancient temples and has been for long considered a center of Vedic scholarship. The small village of Kaup (pronounced Kapu), formerly known as ‘Rakshanapura’ located just 12 kms south of the temple town is also famous for its temples and a pristine beach with a landmark lighthouse atop a rock. Sri Hale Mariamma Temple, also known as the ‘Hale Marigudi’, is one of the oldest temples in Kaup. Goddess Mariamma is known as ‘Kapuda Appe’ (Mother of Kaup) in Tulu and has been worshipped by devotees with fear, love, and devotion. Devotees come seeking the divine blessings of the Goddess from different part of the state and also from other states.This temple is also managed by the GSB community of Kaup and comes under the management of Konkani Mutt Shree Venkatramana Temple.
